<p><strong>Der deutsche Basketball-Star Dirk Nowitzki hat seinen Vertrag mit den Dallas Mavericks bis zur Saison2010/2011 verlängert. </strong>Einzelheiten wurden nicht bekannt. Beobachter gehen aber davon aus, dass die Vertragsverlängerung dem 28-Jährigen rund 60 Millionen Dollar (47 Millionen Euro) bringen dürfte. Der aus Würzburg stammende Nowitzki war in der vergangenen Saison zum drittbesten Spieler der amerikanischen Basketballliga NBA gewählt worden.
