Comme tu vois, darkvert, il y a une grande rivalité entre l'Universitatea Cluj et le CFR Cluj, une rivalité qui deborde souvent et qui se transforme en haine.

Cluj Napoca (le nom officiel)est construit sur l'endroit d'une ville romaine(Napoca).Il est semblable a Saint-Etienne(vestiges historiques romaines et du moyen age),beaucoup des batiments de 18-19-ieme siecle.On dit que c'est la capitale de Transylvannie.Regardant les fans...je ne connais pas quelle est la situation maintenant.Quand j'etais etudiant,CFR jouait dans la second ou la troisieme ligue,U Cluj dans la premiere.U etait l'equipe de la ville,l'equipe des etudiants(U provenant de Universitatea-L'Universite),mais ont passe deja 10 ans et CFR a gagne des supporteres dans les derniers ans!Mais je pense que "U" a plus des supporteres.

PS For the ST Etienne supporters, listen here. U Cluj and CFR Cluj are rival teams. U Cluj has more fans and 50 years in the first league(divizia A), are founded in 1919 and have won a Romanian Cup. Cfr are founded in 1907 and have 10 years of Divizia A I think. At this moment CFR have money and are the better team, on the pitch I would say...little by little they are begining to build something, but U Cluj has the most fans, and is the representative team of the city. CFR is begining to win step by step image and fans but it must take a lot of years to surpass us.

First of all, congratulations for your victory against Bilbao, since you were not the favorite ones. Seems that this match in Romania will not be very easy...

This is really exciting for us in Saint Etienne to play against CFR Cluj, because we were wainting for our comeback in european competitions for 23 years !!!

Maybe have you heard about the magic period of the "greens" of Saint Etienne in the 70's.

Though we faced many difficulties, the public and the supporters never left the boat, and we are coming back !!!

A few word about our stadium, Geoffroy Guichard, nicknamed "le Chaudron" (the caldron) or "l'enfer vert" (the green hell) : this is a unique feeling to hear the songs and the noise of the 35.000 green supporters when our team enters the field. I will be in the stadium on July, 24th and I really advise you to come in France for this big moment, this is something you won't forget. We don't have hooligans in Saint Etienne, but we have crazy supporters who sing for 90 minutes without stopping !

I just want to add that I don't appreciate the behaviour of the agressive forumer calling himself a U Cluj supporter. We come on this forum to speak and exchange with other people, with respect, tolerance and fair play. We don't come to insult.

Saint Etienne supporters are VERY WELCOME here. We are HONOURED hosting you on this forum as our teams will play "face-to-face" on Sunday.

We don't have to forget that all this Intertoto game first of all is about participation, about community and sharing of being outdoors and enjoy a game. If 500 St. Etienne fans will show up in the stadium on Sunday...hey man, thats something. Just seeing St. Etienne supporters on the streets in Cluj...thats a great event by itself.

Also as you know the main reason of this forum is to let people express their opinions. There will be "supporters" who will express their frustration only...unfortunatelly. I guess we have to live with that but if you can please don't be rude to anyone. (special request for U Cluj fans)

Our team CFR Cluj had never participated in any european competition, cups or whatsoever until this season. As we are the so called "2nd team of Cluj" we are even happier because it is the result of hard work....and CFR Cluj fans remember our motto: Honour for the Hard Work!!!

I remember Saint Etienne of the 70's and 80's very well, that was a great team for sure....but I can see you are comming back...thats life ups and downs.

Regarding the game on Sunday....personally I don't think we have too many chances against Saint Etienne (I just want to be realistic here)....but you know soccer is also about the "fight of the day". If we can win with 1-0 that would be a good start for us...hmmm but that will be an effort, if not then a 0-0 could leave some chances on our side as well....
Any good result in this game (or total) will "skyrocket" our image...for you it is more like a normal result....we are the little baby here. Who knows we may be able to do that "Cinderella Story"... :ok:

Lasa ca la voi pe stadion, la fiecare meci superb din spectaculoasa Divizie B, sunt cate 10.000 (zece mii) de suporteri u-isti pur sange.
Anul trecut am fost la voi la meciul cu Olimpia (CFR juca in deplasare) iar meciul de la voi conta pentru fruntea clasamentului (pentru Olimpia desigur).
Am vazut superba voastra galerie, din care dupa pauza au ramas vreo 15-20, restul au plecat deoarece au mirosit blatul ..
Asa suporteri.. asa echipa.. meritati sa fiti impreuna pana la desfiintare.

Deci m-am interesat exact de banner si bannerul a fost ceva de moment. Seful galeriei a venit cu ideea ce sa scrie iar cel care a facut bannerul care imi este prieten foarte bun a fost cu ideea sa scrie cu u micut si cu trei semne de exclamare. Deci cred ca e o coincidenta foarte mare. Bannerul l-am facut dupa meciul cu Apulum de ne-au batut jucatorii G"u"NOAIELE!!!

Da, oricum cea mai penibila faza a voastra o fost cand ati facut ceva mesaj spurcat de genu "steaua te urasc dar nu ca pe U"...plagiat pe fatza dupa celebrul nostru "mama te iubesc dar nu ca pe U" combinat cu alt mesaj inteligent al nostru "steaua cfr te urasc", mesaj care se referea la echipa cfr strict , ea intr-o anumita perioada a existentei sale efemere a avut si acest nume grotesc, nicidecum la echipa steaua bucuresti nu ne refeream...hai ca puteti face si voi un singur mesaj original! keep up the good work.

Bravo baietii !!! I-am eliminat si pe francezi, cu lituanienii nu cred ca vom avea probleme, din cate am vazut eu sunt mai slabi decat Vetra, cei pe care i-am eliminat in turul I. Nu-mi explic prezenta lor in semifinale decat prin faptul ca au avut un parcurs usor, nu cred ca au intalnit vreo echipa puternica pana acum. Se vor opri probabil la Cluj, si isi vor vedea de campionatul lor :drak:

Tocmai de asta imi este frica. Acum sa nu se increada baietii si sa zica ca trec usor si sa ne facem de cacao cu o echipa mai slabuta. Cred ca si aici trebuie sa ii ajutam moral pe baieti. Am intales ca miercuri se joaca, turul fiind la ei acasa. Orice s-ar intampla avem o echipa mare care a intrat in istorie prin eliminarea lui Athletic Bilbao si Saint Etienne. Si nu cred ca mai are nimeni de comentat pt ca francezii au jucat cu prima echipa care a terminat pe locul 6 la ei in campionat.

Nu cred ca Doriel va lasa echipa sa trateze meciul asta cu mai putina seriozitate decat in meciurile cu Bilbao si St. Etienne. Se vede clar ca s-a schimbat mentalitatea echipei de cand a venit, si stie el bine ca in fotbal se poate intampla orice, mai ales daca una dintre echipe se crede invingatoare inainte de meci.
Sper ca vor sta bine si fizic, totusi sunt 2 deplasari in 3-4 zile.

Well I beleived that CFR will play well, but this is somewhat beyond my expectations. People here say that CFR played better than in Bilbao. We still have things to fix...sometimes there are some holes in the defence ...and on top of that...there is a lack of focus on the game... like after the 90th minute when Saint-Etienne scored. Personally I expected St-Etienne to play like in the first 10 minutes in the second half, but CFR played pretty organized this time and they stricked back quickly. We had 4 clear chances to score, not too many but we scored in 50% of the cases. The last 2 goals of the game were kinda' lucky (1 for CFR, 1 for St-Etienne), but this is soccer.
