Según apunta el diario británico 'Daily Mail', Benítez y el mánager general del club, Christian Purslow, tienen la intención de vender a varios jugadores del equipo entre los que se podrían encontrar Babel, Riera y Aquilani, con los que espera obtener una cifra superior a los 30 millones de euros que le permita reforzar al equipo y recuperar su mejor nivel.
