Tras su derrota ante Federer, Verdasco volvió a referirse a la tendinitis de rodillas y el cansancio de la larga temporada. Disputó su partido oficial número 75 en esta temporada: 52 victorias y 23 derrotas. Hoy, ante Del Potro se jugará poder pasar a semifinales.
