El último fichaje del Athletic, Xabier Castillo, explicó en su presentación que su llegada al conjunto rojiblanco supone "seguir creciendo" en su carrera deportiva, y por ese motivo está "muy contento" de "dar el paso al Athletic", club en el que ya militó en categorías inferiores.
