General Outline:
The ISU World Team Trophy of Figure Skating is a totally new ISU Senior Event, in which "Teams" from six ISU Members will compete against each other. The first event will be held in Tokyo, Japan from April 16th - 19th, 2009.
Each team will be composed of 2 Men Single Skaters, 2 Lady Single, 1 Pair Skating team and 1 Ice Dancing couple, a total of 8 skaters per team.
The duration of the event will be of four days with the last day reserved for the gala exhibition.

Broadcaster:
TV Asahi will act as HOST BROADCASTER for the event, providing high standard feeds for the worldwide TV partners of the ISU. The feeds will cover all competitions, including all segments of the event, opening ceremony, trophy award ceremonies and the gala but excluding the practice sessions. TV Asahi will be also providing 26 minute daily highlights.

Prize money:
The organizer will offer a Prize Money amount of US$1,000,000. - to the Skaters/Couples of the awarded teams. This is the highest money prize that has been offered in the ISU history.
1st placed team US$ 200,000
2nd placed team US$ 170,000
3rd placed team US$ 160,000
4th placed team US$ 150,000
5th placed team US$ 140,000
6th placed team US$ 130,000

Qualifying system:
The six teams having accumulated the highest number of points during the ISU events, primarily at ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating events and Final season 2008/09 as well as the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2009, plus possibly the ISU European Figure Skating Championships　/　ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships 2009, the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2009 and ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating season 2008/09 will qualify (Criteria detail will be shown in the ISU Communication 1490). The Team of JSF as the host ISU member, if not qualified under the applicable qualifying system, will receive a wild card entry as team no. 6 replacing the team finishing in that place, the last, in the standings.

Judging system
To determine the final result of the World Team Trophy, the following rule will be applied: For each discipline, places of each skaters will be determined by the ISU Judging System, and points will be awarded assigning 12 points for the first place and decreasing in descending order by one point. The team having earned the highest number of aggregate points in total of all four disciplines will be the winner.

Panel of judges:
The panel of judges will consist of 9 ISU judges of different ISU Members in each discipline. Each participating Member may send 1 ISU judge for Single and Pair skating plus 1 ISU judge for Ice Dancing, total 2 judges per participating Member. The 2 judges must be able to cover all disciplines.

So everyone skated so far looks very slow compaired to the Worlds, but it may be because I am watching them from the upper stand.

evan a mai avut sezone bune, nu e asta primul, bine nu chiar asa de bune. doar ca anul trecut a fost cam in umbra cu accindetari si alte din astea.
da brian, clar trebuie sa invete sa mentina vantajul si in timpul lpului. off, toata treaba asta cu antrenorii e tare naspa. a avut un lp cu destule probleme, dar macar in sfarsit a vrut sa faca 2 quaduri, chiar daca nu i-a reusit a 2a eu zic ca e ok ca a incercat. nu a mai incercat 2 quaduri intr-un program cam de 2 ani.
