El secretario técnico del Valencia, Juan Sánchez trabaja a contrarreloj para aligerar la nómina de futbolistas que hay en la plantilla y con los que no cuenta el preparador vasco. Jugadores como Gavilán, Sisi, Fernandes, Curro Torres, Albelda y Regueiro, entre otros, no cuentan para Emery y éste ya ha dicho que no los quiere en la pretemporada.
