La initiativa lui John Higgins, Greame Dott si a arbitrei Michaela Tabb vom asista in aceasta vara la prima editie a Snooker - World Series, un campionat pe etape care-si propune sa promoveze snookerul in tari din afara Regatului Unit.
Astfel, in anul inaugural vom avea patru concursuri si o finala, Jersey (Marea Britanie), Germania, Rusia si Polonia numarandu-se printre tarile gazda, marea finala avand loc tot in Germania.
Prima etapa a World Series se va disputa in Regatul Unit si ne vom bucura de participarea lui John Higgins, Mark Selby, Shaun Murphy si Ken Doherty, alaturi de acestia urmand a se afla la masa alti patru jucatori invitati, mai putin cunoscuti.
