Fernando Roig, presidente del Villarreal, ha asegurado que el mejor fichaje que podría hacer su club para la próxima temporada sería llegar a los 22.000 abonados. "Se habla de fichar algún ''crack'', a un gran jugador y hacer un gran fichaje, y lo que pienso es que el mejor fichaje que podríamos hacer sería superar los veinte mil socios. Incluso creo que podríamos alcanzar los veintidós mil", afirmó.
