Alemania se impuso por 2-1 a la selección serbia que dirige Miroslav Djukic, en un amistoso disputado en Gelsenkirchen que se le complicó, con un rival muy bien parado en defensa y peligroso al contragolpe y ante el que los alemanes tuvieron que insistir incansablemente durante todo el partido para al final lograr la victoria.
