El publicista Luis Bassat, candidato a la presidencia del Barça en 2000 y en 2003, ha asegurado que "no lo hubiera hecho bien en el mundo del fútbol porque no sé mentir". Bassat ha afirmado: "una gran mayoría de presidentes tienen una actitud y un comportamiento distinto al mío" y ha explicado que de haber sido elegido presidente hubiera jugado en un terreno "resbaladizo", contrario al suyo.
