<p><strong>Der niederländische Sportmediziner Berend Nikkels hat sich im Rahmen der Doping-Diskussionen bei der Tour de France für eine kontrollierte Freigabe des Blutdopingmittels EPO ausgesprochen. </strong>Im TV-Programm ?Studio Sportzomer? sagte er, daß Radrennfahrer mit EPO-Dosen länger gesund blieben. ?EPO ist ein bewährtes Medikament, das man im Spitzensport sicher benutzen kann, wenn es unter der Kontrolle eines Arztes verabreicht wird?, erklärte Nikkels. Er forderte auch die Abschaffung der Dopingliste: ?Der Inhalt stimmt zum Teil nicht. Die Liste muß vom Tisch. Mit Haschisch oder Kokain fährt niemand schneller.? Nikkels stritt allerdings ab, Dopingmittel selbst an Sportler zu verabreichen.
