<p><strong>Die UEFA hat das Preisgeld für die Europameisterschaft 2008 in Österreich und der Schweiz gegenüber der EM 2004 von 129 auf 184 Millionen Euro erhöht.</strong> Diese Zulage in Höhe von 55 Millionen Euro gab die UEFA vor der EM-Gruppenauslosung in Luzern bekannt. Alle 16 Mannschaften kassieren nach der UEFA-Mitteilung als Startgeld 7,5 Millionen Euro, vor vier Jahren waren es 4,8 Millionen Euro gewesen. Ein Sieg in der Gruppe ist eine Million, ein Unentschieden 500 000 Euro wert. Die Viertelfinalisten erhalten jeweils zwei Millionen, die Halbfinalisten weitere drei Millionen Euro. Der unterlegene Finalist darf sich auf zusätzlich 4,5 Millionen freuen. Und das Team, das am 29. Juni im Wiener Ernst-Happel-Stadion den EM-Titel gewinnt, erhält weitere 7,5 Millionen Euro auf sein Konto.</p><div style="margin: 5px 0 5px 0; font: 10px arial; color: #999; clear: both;">
