<p><strong>Tommy Haas steht bei den 127. US Open in New York nach großem Kampf im Achtelfinale. </strong>Der Weltranglistenzehnte verspielte in seiner Drittrundenbegegnung eine 2:0-Satzführung, besiegte den Franzosen Sebastien Grosjean am Ende aber noch mit 6:2, 6:4, 3:6, 4:6, 6:3. Er trifft nun auf den US-Amerikaner James Blake oder den Österreicher Stefan Koubek. Haas erreichte bei den US Open bereits zum sechsten Mal das Achtelfinale, anschließend aber nur zweimal auch das Viertelfinale. Philipp Kohlschreiber aus Augsburg kämpft am Sonntag gegen den Spanier Carlos Moya um den Einzug in die Runde der letzten 16.</p><div style="margin: 5px 0 5px 0; font: 10px arial; color: #999; clear: both;">
