Magazine: I don't have a favorite magazine. I read all kinds.

Skating Related:
Age started: Started skating at age 3.
Earliest skating memory: Earliest memory is my 1st comp. I came 3rd but told everyone was going to win. But I did land my 1st flip jump and loop jump in the competition. I was apparently a confident kid.
Favourite skating moment to date: Favorite moment was having Dave tell me that he wanted to skate with me.
Most embarrassing skating moment: Embarrassing moment was during a live outdoor show I got off the ice the wrong way and fell into the back drop. I was skating with my ex partner.

Random Questions:
What is something that fans might not know about you? You don't know that I love to cook.
Ultimate pet peeves: My pet peeve is when people wear clashing colors. Dave like to do this sometimes. He!he!he!LOL Also when people say "like" and "and uh" whenever they talk all the time.
Do you have any unique talents/traits? I'm a great colorer and decorator (like my Mom) but I'm not so talented at anything in particular except skating.
Future goals/dreams/hopes: I want to be a Mom one day. I think this is the most amazing gift. I would also like to be the best wife and make my husband the happiest man ever.
Ten years from now... : 10 yrs. from now I hope to have a house with some munchkins running around and maybe doing some t.v stuff, i.e., working back stage or doing analysis.
What is your greatest fear in life? Losing someone close to me.
Who are your role models/heros? Scott Hamilton, Shania (love her), Bill Cosby and Tiger
If you could be anybody else for a day, who would you be and why? I would love to be a dog for a day because I'd be kissed all the time, sleep all the time and have someone do everything for me. Life is good! I would also like to be Shania for a day, to sing and be so beautiful and sell out shows. I always thought it would be so cool to have everyone know the words to your songs. Wow!
If you had three wishes... : Good health, security for my family and a lifetime of love, laughs and happiness.

2007

3 months to go!
Hey Everyone!

WOW! We we haven't written in ages, we're so sorry for lack of updates. We honestly have no excuses except that we don't ever feel that we have very interesting things to tell you. LOL
I woke up this morning and said I'm going to write right now but then I realized the pics that I wanted to show you are in our iPhoto on the computer and guess what? I have no idea how to work it and David is gone teaching this morning so sorry, you'll have to wait to see me and my belly.
On that note, I'm absolutely LOVING this pregnancy and I'm feeling wonderful which is a blessing for sure as I always hear so many stories about sicknesses and aversions to food, etc. I haven't had any of that and it's only been since the last month and a half that I REALLY look and feel pregnant.
We are having so much fun watching the baby move all over (my belly looks like a waterbed at times) and when we talk to it we actually get movement as well so it's so much fun. We have approx (12 weeks) 3 months left until we go in to welcome this baby but it sure is going fast, its so hard to believe.
We don't have anything ready yet but we're so excited because we found a wonderful artist to paint the baby's room a murel (spelling?) which is going to look like you're taking a walk in the wilderness....2 trees, birds, squirels, bunnies, dragonflies, ladybugs and a pond with frogs etc. Getting a picture in your mind? It's so cute and it'll be so much for Dave and I so we can teach the baby the names of the animals. Fun hey?
Besides the baby stuff we've been coaching about 3-4hrs/day and having fun with that too. It's enough work to keep us a bit busy and active.
Dave is training for a half marathon (crazy guy) and I've just been doing my workouts everyday trying to stay in some kind of good shape if that's possible! I power walk and or do the eliptical almost everyday so I'm pretty sure that's why I feel so good.

We went on a cruise just over a month ago in the Mediterrean for 12 days which was fabulous!
We loved it and would highly recommend it. We were in Italy, Spain, Greece, France and Turkey. Very cool!
We are doing a seminar this weekend in Winnipeg, MN and then we are planning to stay at home for the duration of this pregnancy.
So when we get organized I'll send you some pics to have a good laugh at. Be patient, as you know it could take a little bit. Hopefully not another 3 months.
Take care and we hope you are all having a fantastic summer!
Jamie

A summer unlike the others for David Pelletier
The summer of 2007 has not been like any other for David Pelletier and his wife Jamie Sale.

A special set of circumstances explain the situation. “This is definitely one of our best ever summers. For once, we’re not on the ice. Jamie’s expecting our first child at the beginning of October. Everything’s going well and we’re making some final preparations for the happy event,” says the gold medallist in figure skating from the Salt Lake City Olympics.

His presence at the rink has been limited to that of a coach to the Edmonton pair of Sarah McCoy and Aaron van Cleave, who finished 3rd in juniors at last season’s Canadian Championships. “I must get coaching from my parents as they are both teachers. It’s a new thing for me, but I think that I have a lot to bring to the youngsters. My coaches have all been influential people in my life. A guy like Roland Paquet was my mentor in Rimouski. I learnt a lot about life from him. It’s Roland who taught me to drive.

Aside from coaching, Pelletier has been enjoying a bit of travelling and playing golf. In the last few days, he used a visit to his family in Sayabec to renew some old acquaintances in his hometown.

Last Saturday he served as the honorary President of the Julie-Catherine-Sonia golf tournament at the Club des Saules (Willow Golf Club) in Rimouski which benefited the skating club he grew up in and of which he is certainly the most illustrious member.

The upcoming delivery from the stork has put the brakes on the frenetic pace of their career as pro skaters. “There’s no way we can do 80 shows around the world. Next winter we’ll do 20 or 25 shows, maximum. We’ve had plenty of offers, but now we can pick and chose. We do what we want to do.
As members of the Stars on Ice tour, the Edmonton couple will limit themselves to shows in the US and the Canadian tour, which will run for less than a month in spring 2009.
There are no other plans in the works for this skater from Sayabec for the moment. The reason? “Becoming a father is the best project there is.”

September 17th, 2007 - Anytime now
Hey Everyone!
We were just told that it could be anytime now that we have our baby. It's all going quite quickly in there and the baby is moving down fast.
We're absoluetly thrilled and anxious to have this baby so a little early is all good for us. We'll definitely keep you all posted.
We don't have much to tell you guys because nothing has been finalized in our schedule yet but we'll also let you know as soon we know what's happening skating wise. Of course it'll all depend on how my labor/delivery goes and how long my recovery will be.
Hope you are all well. Take care and we'll be posting soon I'm sure.

December 17th, 2007 - Home for the Holidays
Hey everyone!
We are so happy to home and getting ready for Christmas as we've had quite the schedule lately. We were in Lake Placid, N.Y for Stars on Ice rehearsals as I mentioned in Nov. and then we were in San Fransisco, CA for Brian Boitano's show beginning of Dec (Dave did it by himself) and then we did our t.v xmas show in Kelowna, B.C and another show in Cranbrook, B.C. the week after Brian's. We choreographed our 2 Stars #'s all last week with David Wilson so we are so exhausted now and feel like we could really use a nice break already. (We are skating to Justin Timberlake's "Lovestoned", and Josh Groban's "Thankful" this year.)
We had Jesse with us the whole trip and he travelled better than us, sleeping, eating and being held all the time by everyone. Life is good for little Jesse
He was even in the finale of our xmas show, Steven Cousin's brought him out after we skated for the finale which was really just a bow but he was so cute and just had bubbles coming out of his mouth and stared at the lights. In Cranbrook for our 2nd show apparently he was fussing before Steven stepped on the ice with him but once he did Jesse stopped immediately. He's a true performer!

We are home for Christmas and New Years which will be nice as we have a fairly busy schedule from Jan-March. We are going to both US and Canadian Nationals for the whole time (I also have a Jr. lady competing at Can Nat.). We're supposed to be doing a show at US nat. like Olympic Ice and in Vancouver we'll skating in the gala and hopefully commentating for the pairs, not sure yet.
Then we go on tour from Feb 15th (Bakersfield, CA)-March 22nd and of course the Canadian tour in April-May.
So that's all I've got for you for now. Don't forget to check our xmas show on t.v Tuesday, Dec 18th on CBC (I have no idea what time sorry). Happy Holidays to everyone, be safe and enjoy your time off, hopefully. Take care,
Jamie

November 29th, 2007 - I'm 2 months now! (baby Jesse)
Hey Everyone!

It's been a fun and busy 2 months for us and Jesse and believe it or not he's STILL being a good boy, even after all of our travels. We flew to Quebec City for Skate Canada, as most of you already know, to commentate and be honorary chairs for Skate Canada and then we went to Dave's home town of Sayabec,Qc for 3 days of rest and visiting and then we were in Lake Placid for Stars on Ice rehearsals for a week. Thankfully we had Grandma (Dave's Mom for that trip) with us to help because we were fairly busy learning steps and getting back to training for our up coming shows.
Jesse was a trooper and never cried or really fussed on any of the flights, he slept mostly and when he was awake he stared at the lights or ate.
He's a joy to travel with and he's our little buddy, LOVE HIM! We know we won't have a problem with him on tour. We are doing 20 of the US shows and the whole Canadian tour and he's coming for the whole thing and we're bringing a Grandma for help so we're pretty fortunate.
We are getting ready for our xmas shows in Kelowna and Cranbrook, B.C next week but Dave (by himself) is doing Brian Boitano's show next Wed. first and Jesse and I get go and watch. It's a bit weird for me but I'm going to enjoy it and I'll actually get to watch a WHOLE show from an audiences' perspective. FUN!
After the New Year we'll be heading to Nationals (maybe both Canadian and US) and then we start the US leg of the tour on Feb 15th in Bakersfield, CA. We'll be doing 20 in a row and then Illa Kulik will be doing the other 20.
It means that we are in the opening for a bit, the closing, Dave's in the # with Sasha and of course our own numbers and that's it for the US tour but we'll be in the end of act 1's group # in Canada.
There, you're all filled in now on what's happening with us in the next 6 months.
If you're interested Jesse now weighs a whoppin' 14.5 lbs and has grown 3 inches. He doubled his weight in 6 weeks (YIKES!) so he's growing nicely!

The good news for us is he's been sleeping through the night since Dave's B-day (Nov.22nd) so we're actually getting some good sleep ourselves now. He was always pretty good in the night from day 1 giving us 4 hrs between every feeding but now he's out cold from 11pm- around 7am give or take an hr. For those Mom's and Dad's out there you can sure appreciate that.
It's been the greatest gift ever having him here and we're extremely grateful and thankful to be able to have had him.
O.k, so that's it for now but we'll post again soon to give our holiday wishes. Can you believe it's already almost Christmas? YIKES! Where does the time go? I guess it flies by when you're having fun.
Take care and be well,
Jamie

Six years have passed since Jamie Sale and David Pelletier were awarded gold medals in the figure skating pairs competition following the infamous judging scandal at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.

The Edmonton residents have since retired from competition and turned pro, married in Banff in 2005, had a baby last year and were recently inducted into the Canadian Figure Skating Hall of Fame.

Despite the changes in their lives, they haven't exactly let themselves go.

Au contraire, says the Quebec-born Pelletier.

"I was in great shape at the Olympics, but I don't think I've lost much," he says. "I'm actually stronger than I used to be, a lot more balanced, because even though we stopped competing, we're still touring and we're still demanding our body to do a lot of stuff that requires our body to be in good shape."

Ditto for Sale.

"I feel so good right now," she says. "I don't feel like we're not able to do what we used to do. We do a lot of what we used to do, plus even more things."

Sale, 31, gave birth to the couple's son, Jesse Joe Pelletier, in September. The petite figure skater gained only about 25 pounds during her pregnancy - partly due to the fact she stayed active until late in her third trimester with a prenatal regimen of Pilates. Plus, she maintained sound nutritional habits, including eating four balanced meals a day.

After giving birth, Sale had an extra five pounds to lose, which she shed within a couple of months thanks to the elliptical machine and stationary bike. She also returned to the ice three weeks after getting out of the hospital.

"I don't even feel like I really had a baby as far as my body goes. I feel great. I don't feel 31, that's for sure. And I definitely don't act 31. I still act like I'm a teenager, maybe sometimes," she says with a giggle.

These days, Sale weighs 107 pounds at five-foot-one.

Jesse weighs 25 pounds at seven months old.

"He's heavy," says Sale, the Calgary native who grew up in Red Deer. "Just lifting him and throwing him up in the air a few times, that's your arm workout for the week."

Meanwhile, Pelletier, 33, is 180 pounds at five-foot-10 - just a pound or two above what he weighed at the Olympics.

The 2001 world champions are currently touring with Stars on Ice, which hits Rexall Place this Friday.

They're nearing the end of this year's Canadian tour, which takes them to 12 cities in three weeks. It follows the U.S. tour earlier this year that involved 20 American cities in five weeks. Jesse and his two grandmothers have tagged along for the cross-country trips.

During the tours, Sale and Pelletier keep their physical activity to a minimum when they're not on the ice.

On their days off, they might stretch or hop on a stationary bike for some explosive interval training, Pelletier says. Or they'll just take it easy.

"We're very active in the show. We're in quite a few numbers. That alone keeps us in good shape," Sale explains.

When the tour wraps up next week, the two plan to get back into a regimen of yoga.

Sale will also continue where she left off with Pilates, while Pelletier - who trained for a half-marathon last year while his wife was pregnant - expects to begin pounding the pavement once again. He says he doesn't like to run during the skating season because it tends to tighten up his muscles.

"I want my muscles to be long and stretched, so I kinda gave up the running since last September (when their skating season began)," he explains, adding he plans to combine yoga and running this summer. "That would be a perfect combination."

The two world-class athletes also resort to an old standby - rubber exercise bands. They use the bands almost daily in the off-season to perform a variety of movements, including exercises that keep their shoulders strong and limber.

"We got so toned from it, and strong," Sale says. "It's way more difficult than lifting weights. You have to control the elastic eccentrically and concentrically. It's very challenging."

In addition to all of that, they will often go through a half-hour session on the bike, 20 minutes of core training and 20 minutes of stretching.

On the bike, Pelletier says they'll cycle at 100% intensity for 30 seconds and then back off to about 60% for 90 seconds. They'll do that eight times, before moving on to the all-important core exercises.

"Everything starts from the core," he explains. "If you have a strong core, you'll be able to lift anything on the ice and be stable and balanced while you're doing it."

Of course, a major key to their training is variety.

"We're very active. We do a lot of different things," Sale says. "We get bored very easily. We try to change it up."

One thing they won't change, however, is their attitude towards keeping fit.

For the dynamic skating duo, it's all about living a healthy and happy life.

"Look at it as a lifestyle that you will take on for the rest of your life," Pelletier says. "The rewards are so great that you'll look back and think what the hell was I doing before?

"Do it for yourself first, but also because you want to be around as long as you can for the people you love."

July 24th, 2008 - Where's the summer going?
Hey Everyone!
Where is the summer going? Every year it seems to go faster and faster, is this a sign of getting older? LOL Our little man Jesse is growing up before our eyes and we can hardly believe it, it's crazy how they can change overnight almost. He's almost 10 months now and he's all over the place crawling and getting into trouble whenever he can. We definitely have our hands full and always need to keep our eyes on him or else he's gone or pulling something down or eating something he shouldn't be,etc. So fun though and we really love it!
We have started skating again and we are getting ready for a couple of shows this summer/fall and we'll be choreographing soon as well. We don't have much picked out as far as music yet, we just started REALLY listening but it usually comes to us quickly or accidentally.
We've had and still have weddings to go to (4 total this summer) so that's always fun. I am coaching one skater right now along with my coach Jan Ullmark (same as last year) part time so we train and then I help out and we're also keeping busy doing pilates, running and a lot of walking with Jesse. Our biggest task right now is sleep training Jesse which means we're teaching him to put himself to sleep. NOT SO EASY when he's used to being held and cuddled all the time to fall asleep. It's actually very important to teach them this so they can sleep anywhere, anytime without a problem. It's harder on us though because we have to have HUGE patience and it may take up to 2 weeks to train him. Ahhhh, I guess we should be well trained in this department.
We are going to the Indy car races coming up this weekend here in Edmonton with our car sponsor Driving Force and then next Thursday is our annual golf tourny here too. Good times!
Anyway, life is great and we are having a wonderful summer so far and enjoying being with our little guy outside everyday. It's been great here in Edmonton, for the most part!
Hope you all are fabulous and taking good care. We'll be back here....well I'm not sure, it seems to take me a while to write all the time now but we will keep trying to be better.
Be well and until next time.......
Jamie

May 15th, 2008 - Holy Moly!
Well, long time no write everyone!
We apologize for neglecting you all for SO long. As you've probably noticed I (Jamie) am the only one of the 2 of us who write and that makes it difficult to keep you posted with a little guy in the house now. I know I shouldn't have excuses but every time I think of writing I end up getting distracted by Jesse's cute little face (well not so little!!!! LOL) and then I forget.
He's having a nap now and I have nothing to get done around the house so I'm writing, FINALLY!
We had a great time touring the 20 cities in the US and the 12 in Canada with Jesse, he was wonderful it actually made the time go by faster having him there and watching him do something new almost daily.
It was difficult for us to leave him at home with Gramma (1st time away from him) when we went to Victoria and Vancouver to finish the Can. tour but we were told it was suppose to be good for us.....NOT! Not for me anyway. I know it's healthy to have your time away but I'm CRAZY over this kid and can't get enough of him.
We were happy to get home and give him a squeeze. He didn't forget about us thank goodness.
Since we've been home we've been spring cleaning and organizing our house, we do this every spring. We are trying to get some golfing in when the weather is nice and visiting with all our friends and family now that we're home for a bit.
We are doing a few charity golf tournaments (did one yesterday in Canmore,Ab,Can.) this spring/summer and and we have 3 weddings too. FUN!
We are planning to take a month or so off the ice and then start back and choreograph for this coming seasons' shows. We aren't sure exactly what we'll be doing but we should have about 3 shows before Jan. We are "hoping" to be commentating again at Skate Canada Int., Nationals and if possible 4 Cont's and Wolrds. We'll see.
Our little man is crawling a bit and he's pulling himself up on everything so there's no more taking your eyes off of him. He's quite axious to walk and be a big boy but it's not fair how fast he's growing up.
Anyway, for how long we haven't written for I surprisingly don't have a ton to tell you I'm sorry.
I will keep you posted on what's happening with us for the summer/fall. Hope you are all well and having a great sping and your summer is even better.
Take care,
Jamie

mi-a facut mare placere sa citesc felul cum scrie despre ala micu :d mai ales ca stiu cum e sa ai un bebe in preajma, si sora mea are unu si e fascinant cum un mititel te poate schimba (in bine)
