    Schumi ..... the only one?

    intrebarea e , intr-adevar , prost aleasa.

vei putea vedea o discutie , cateodata in contradictoriu , dar fara a exagera.

Dupa episoadele JV, DH a urmat ieri si JPM si nimeni nu-i zice nimic.

da ceva interesant. va rog sa-l cititi , merita.

    Coulthard warns of potential dangers

McLaren Mercedes star David Coulthard has spoken of his collision with Michael Schumacher at a very wet Spa-Francorchamps circuit back in 1998, in an attempt to warn officials just how dangerous certain aspects of motor racing can be.
The Scot fears that we could see another death on the racetrack after comparing his incident with Schumacher on that chaotic day five years to the one at the Nurburgring a week ago between his Mp4-17D and the Renault of Fernando Alonso.

Coulthard accused the young Spaniard of trying to ‘brake test’ him at the Nurburgring last Sunday causing the Scot to take to the gravel when attempting to pass. It has only been since then that he has compared the two incidents and can see just how close he came to causing Schumacher serious injury, or possibly killing him the way the German accused at the time….

"The penny has only just dropped that in Spa I could have killed Schumacher by lifting a little early,” said David to the English newspaper The Guardian, after years of denying that this was the scenario. “ It's only when it happens to you that you realise how dangerous it is and at the Nurburgring last week I could have been seriously hurt. The risk is that Spa could have been a very dangerous accident for Michael and at the Nurburgring last week it could have been dangerous for me too.”
"In Spa Michael's reaction was that I tried to brake test him and tried to kill him, but the stewards looked at the data and I hadn't braked and it was all brushed under the carpet. The reality is that I lifted to let him past me but I lifted in heavy spray and you should never do that. But when someone pushes you your reaction is to say you didn't do that. It wasn't an issue whether I brake tested him but the issue was that I shouldn't have lifted on the racing line in the wet - I should have pulled over.”
The Scot believes a lot of what happened in that race five years ago can be put down to his inexperience in that type of situation. He didn’t, by any means, think he would harm Schumacher, and while the rules state that brake testing is illegal, there is no law against lifting off the gas as he did that day. However, he now knows the dangers of what he did and if he was in that position again now, he would definitely pull off the racing line to allow another driver through…..
"I would do that now but in 1998 I didn't have the experience or knowledge and I'd never had anyone run into the back of me. I had to do that to learn that I shouldn't do it and all the other young guys are having to learn like that.”
With all the young drivers coming up through the sport, such as Alonso, David’s main fear is that they are too inexperienced to realize the dangers of what they are doing and that as a result, another death in Formula One is just waiting to happen.
“The fact is that with all new talent, what's happening with the younger guys is they haven't got the experience from the lower formula so the mistakes they make are now made in F1. Alonso lifted where I didn't expect him to as I did to Michael in Spa. It was a racing incident, but one that could have been avoided and should not happen again.
"Eventually somewhere down the line, in three or 10 years, new young guys will come in and it will happen to Fernando and he will feel slightly different about it. But I don't want to go through that experience, or put someone through that experience, when they are launched into the air. It's happened twice recently with Jacques Villeneuve going over the back of Ralf Schumacher when a marshal was killed and again when Ralf went into the back of Rubens Barrichello and no-one was hurt. But as sure as we are sitting here there will be a fatality in Motorsport in the future.''

Schumacher- ‘ I Really Thought I Was Going To Die’
Michael speaks of Silverstone 99 for the first time

For the first time since his infamous Silverstone 99 shunt, Michael Schumacher has publicly spoken about his ordeal, some four years later.

The German was leading the 1999 World Championship standings but the accident in the first corner at Silverstone ended his dreams of finishing Ferrari’s long Drivers’ title draught which at the time stretched to 20 years.

Schumacher made a poor start to his race when he allowed David Coulthard and his then team-mate Eddie Irvine to pass him down to turn 1 but as he attempted to retake his spot from the Ulsterman it all went wrong.

Michael went straight into the sand trap instead of turning the car into the corner and collided with the wall at an incredibly high speed head-on.

Schumacher recalls: “What happened is so weird, I really thought I was going to die.

"I was lying on the ground and all around me everything went dark and at the same time I heard my heartbeat getting louder and louder, but slower and slower.

"It was something you read about or see in a movie. As my heartbeat got slower, everything got darker, and suddenly my heartbeat stopped. I couldn't hear anything anymore.

"It probably only lasted a couple of seconds, then the sound and light returned but I do remember that everything was so intensely still - in that moment I thought that's it."

Looking back at his career, Michael admits that his Silverstone shunt was the biggest and the one that affected him the most.

"Silverstone was one of the worst moments of my career”, Explains the Ferrari ace. “If not the worst, I remember it very clearly because it was so strange.”

After the impact as the horrific pictures were screened across the globe, many had feared that this would be the first fatality since Ayrton Senna’s tragic death in Imola 94.

Luckily that was not the case but Michael did suffer severe injuries to his leg as he broke the bone and was forced to sit out most of the season effectively ending his Championship challenge for that year.

He adds: "When I put my foot hard down on the brake pedal I knew straightaway it was going to be bad. And to be honest there are much nicer feelings than heading full speed, and without brakes, into a pile of tyres.

"After the impact I tried immediately to get out of the car. It was instinctive to try and get out but I was stuck.

“I couldn't get my legs out of the cockpit because the tyre had been forced through the chassis and that's what broke my leg.

"It was terrifying, trying to get out and not succeeding. Finally we managed and the doctors told me to lie down on the ground.

"I had had several accidents before, some of them serious, but until Silverstone nothing had happened to me.

Schumacher concluded: “But as soon as I knew what had caused the accident, had analysed it and could explain it, I was able to cope with it."

Michael recovered from the accident superbly and has gone on to win three more Championships with Ferrari making him one of the most successful drivers in the history of Formula One- and richest.

Marele campion super apreciat... Ce-i drept stie sa intoarca masina in loc dupa ce se rasuceste ca vitelul pe pista.... Schumi a aratat ca are tot ce are nevoie un mare campion... inclusiv capacitatea de a risca si de a lupta pina la ultima curba! Asa ca... astept contra argumente!
    Stay Cool
